What is RIFM INFOX®?
The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) is committed to advancing the science of fragrance safety through collaboration and transparency. One way we do this is through our RIFM INFOX® program—short for Information Exchange.
RIFM INFOX is a forum designed to facilitate open dialogue between RIFM’s scientific team, members of the independent Expert Panel for Fragrance Safety, and stakeholders from fragrance creators to governmental regulatory staff. Each INFOX event features presentations from RIFM scientists covering all areas of human health and environmental safety and Expert Panel members on the latest research, methodologies, and safety assessment practices. These are followed by interactive Q&A sessions, allowing participants to engage directly with the experts.
INFOX provides a unique opportunity to discuss key scientific topics, clarify technical details, and explore how our work supports the responsible development and use of fragrance materials. The program encourages a shared understanding of the science and the process behind ingredient safety evaluation.
We are pleased to announce that our next INFOX event will occur in Paris on September 29, 2025. At this in-person gathering, industry professionals, top academics, and government officials can expect groundbreaking presentations on RIFM’s Environmental Framework 2.0, the award-winning Low-Exposure Paper, recent chemical clustering and structural activity group research, skin sensitization advancements, the Creme RIFM Aggregate Exposure Model, and cutting-edge safety assessments.
Attendees will also get a hands-on introduction to the world-renowned RIFM Database, with a chance to run their own queries, and have an opportunity to peruse more of RIFM’s science via a special science poster exhibition.
