Meet some of RIFM’s international collaborators!
11.21.23
“Since its founding in 1966, the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) has prioritized collaborative research and safety evaluation, drawing on the expertise of scientists worldwide,” explains RIFM’s President, Anne Marie Api. “While individual scientists have made world-changing discoveries, the overwhelming majority of scientific progress is the product of cooperation, including data sharing and collaboration.”
RIFM’s Safety Assessment Manager, Danielle Botelho, concurs. “Our scientists strive to ensure the safe use of fragrances while avoiding testing on animals. As a result, there is a constant need for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to refine our understanding of safe use in the absence of animal testing. We rely heavily on international collaborations when developing, refining, and verifying NAMs. RIFM’s free online Science Symposium provides a great opportunity for fragrance safety stakeholders worldwide to meet and discuss our ongoing work together with some of them.”
Register now for RIFM’s 2nd Annual Science Symposium and meet the following RIFM collaborators:
Four collaborators join RIFM’s Skin Sensitization Team (Isabelle Lee, Maura Lavelle, Isabella Schember) for Breakout: New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for Potency Assessment in Skin Sensitization:
Andy Forreryd (Key Account Manager & Scientific Liaison, SenzaGen);
Andreas Natsch (Head of In Vitro Molecular Screening, Fragrance & Beauty, Givaudan);
Cindy Ryan (Owner, ToxTech Solutions); and
Shashi Donthamsetty (Senior Lead Toxicologist, IFF).
RIFM’s Photo Safety Team (Gretchen Ritacco, Chaitra Deodhar) welcomes Allison Hilberer (Senior Toxicologist and Study Director, Institute for In Vitro Sciences) to Strategic New Approach Methodologies in Photo Safety.
Stefan Pfuhler (R&D Senior Director Research Fellow, Procter & Gamble) joins RIFM’s Genotoxicity Team (Yax Thakkar) to present the work done on Naturals as a Collaboration in the HESI Botanical Safety Consortia (Genotoxicity Subgroup).
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage with RIFM’s scientists and their collaborators during this free online four-hour event!
