Chemical Signatures: Advancing Read-Across and Fragrance Safety Assessment
4.15.26
FREE WEBINAR: Wednesday, April 29 | 9:30 to 10:30 AM EDT
The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) invites fragrance safety stakeholders to an upcoming webinar on its chemical signature grouping approach. The event is free of charge.
This session will introduce how RIFM uses chemical structure to organize materials into structure–activity groups (SAGs). The goal is to support clearer, more consistent evaluation and improve how relationships between substances are understood.
The approach helps strengthen read-across by enabling more systematic comparison across substances. It provides a practical way to address data gaps while maintaining a strong scientific basis for decision-making.
It also supports non-animal safety assessment by making better use of existing data and structural information. This reflects ongoing efforts to apply more efficient and predictive methods in safety evaluation.
The functionality is now implemented in the RIFM Database and has been applied across thousands of fragrance and related chemicals, making it accessible to a broad set of stakeholders.
This free webinar will cover the scientific basis of the approach, how it is used in read-across and prioritization, and how it is being applied in practice within the RIFM Database.
The session is open to stakeholders across industry, academia, and regulatory communities.
