RIFM Board Chair Robert M. Weinstein, Ph.D., honored with Distinguished Service Award

5.15.24

Congratulations to Robertet North America President & CEO and RIFM Board Chair Robert M. Weinstein, Ph.D., for being honored with the Fragrance Creators Association’s 2024 Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award.

The Fragrance Creators Association (FCA) will present the award to Dr. Weinstein during its 2024 Spring Dinner this evening at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, NJ.

In its official award announcement, FCA referred to Dr. Weinstein as a “highly distinguished and values-driven leader in the fragrance industry” and noted his “many contributions to people, perfume, and the planet.”

“We are so happy that Bob is being recognized in this way,” RIFM President Anne Marie Api, Ph.D., Fellow ATS, enthused. “His longstanding leadership and passionate commitment to the science supporting the safe use of fragranced products is well-known throughout the industry. Bob was a key contributor to the success of RIFM’s current Safety Assessment and Research Programs, inspiring fellow industry leaders to ensure RIFM was positioned to complete critical goals along the way.”

Dr. Weinstein received his B.A. in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College in 1979. He earned his Ph.D. at MIT, where he completed doctoral work in organic synthesis with Professor Dietmar Seyferth.

Dr. Weinstein started his career in the flavor and fragrance industry in 1987 in R&D at Firmenich S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland. There, he focused on research on synthesizing flavor and fragrance materials. In September 2012, Dr. Weinstein joined Robertet S.A. in his present position as President & CEO of Robertet North America.

Dr. Weinstein has served on RIFM’s Board of Directors twice, from 2000 to 2004 and again from 2015 to the present, currently as Chairman.

Congratulations, Dr. Weinstein, on this well-deserved recognition!
